If you mean if an ENDTCPIFC has been issued for an interface will AS/400 somehow magically know to issue a STRTCPIFC later? Nope. If you're asking if you unplug an Ethernet cable from AS/400 and later replug it will the interface start to work again? Don't know. This has more to do with whether or not the underlying communications objects -- line description, controller, and device objects -- are able to recover in this scenario or not. What was the status of the associated line description used by the TCP/IP interface? (You can get this info by issuing command NETSTAT *IFC and then using list option 12 against this Ethernet interface). -john martz IBM AS/400 TCP/IP PPP development (and stuff) Internet e-mail: jmartz@us.ibm.com +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
