I tried it but it does not works. If the starting position + length of data 
parameter is greater than the legth of the data area, i get the message CPF1089 
in the error parameter and no length.

Denis,

When you call the QWCRDTAA API allocate say 2048 bytes for the Receiver
variable parameter, set Length of receiver variable to 2048, set Starting
position to -1, and set Length of data to 2000.  After calling the
API the Length of data returned value in the receiver variable will
tell you the size of the *dtaara.
