I have a client who has an Epson LQ1070 printer hooked to a parallel port on a Decision Data 486-A terminal. The printer defn on the terminal is set up to do 5256 emulation. We turned on autocfg and let the system config the printer and then went in and changed the mfg type and model to *EQLQ1070 with print transformation turned on. The printer prints OK, however, the font is switched to a courier font in a NLQ (near letter quality ) mode and is quite slow. We would like this printer to print in draft mode. once the spool file is completed printing, the printer goes back to draft mode. I have tried to turn off host print transformation, that prints in draft, however, after a few pages the printer locks up and never completes printing the spool file. We have also tried the above senario with 4214 emulation, but the result were the same. Anyone have any ideas?
