You will need to pass an RPG pointer type as a parameter to your MI
program. Once you have resolved the system pointer to the object you'll
have to convert it to a space pointer so your RPG program can use it. Use
the MI operation SETSPPFP to set the space pointer to the system pointer
value. The passed RPG pointer parameter will be a space pointer. RPG is
horrible with pointer arithmetic (you're probably familiar with this if
your thinking of attempting it) so good luck. What are you trying to
manipulate? You'll find a lot of closed doors if you're operating at level
40. I've no idea where you got the RTVQRYF MI instruction from - it's not
in any of my manuals.
If you give me a fax number I can fax you the type codes - I'm too lazy to
re-key them all here.
