Depends on what you mean by front end. I shamelessly reused code
published in Midrange magazine to execute interactive SQL statements from
a CL program or the command line. I sent a copy to David for the
archives... You might look it up on their website
http://www.midrange.com/

The basic premise is to create your SQL in QQMQRYSRC, like
DELETE FROM LiveLib/LiveFil WHERE account# IN
   (SELECT account# from Archivelib/Archivefil WHERE
      davcde = &DAVCDE)

"&DAVCDE" is a variable that you fill in when you execute the QM query.
Compile this source, then execute it via RUNQMQRY. If you forget to
supply the parm, you'll be prompted for it.

As for forms, that's a much trickier proposition. You'll have to get
pretty intimate with the QM query manuals for that stuff. It's not
particularly intuitive. You'll find that for most of your simple SELECT
statements the default QMFORM is sufficient. We use this sort of thing
here for programmer tool/testing purposes: not end-user apps. If you
really have a need for industrial strength query, I'd look around before
writing it myself...

Generally, the only AS/400 specific information comes either from IBM
manuals/tech conferences or books/seminars from Duke (News/400) or
Midrange Computing. But, there's always this list!
