Tried it on V4R2 and V4R1: both match.

If you're leery of testing the release level of the system library (which 
seems to work just fine,) you can also try this Retrieve Product 
Information API code that someone (alas I don't know who) emailed me long 
ago.  It's in the V3R7 manual OS/400 Software APIs.
