Yeeeeeeeeeeeouch! If I may ask, just a _few_ more questions ;-)? Did the $7K _include_ RPG and ADT (which I won't be needing on the D10), or was the extra $5,175 in _addition to_ the $7K? What cards did you get on your D10 for $1,175? Do you (or anyone else for that matter) know if the memory, DASD, DASD controllers, Ethernet, Token Ring, and FSIOP cards from a D10 will work on a 170?
