Due to some problems with the DOS Client and Windows 95 we looked into the price for the Perle Windows Client. Due to the expense of the software per license I thought that I would see if anyone would be willing to share their alternative methods of remote connection. The connection is mainly used by our outside sales people to run and print their sales reports etc. so it has to to somewhat user friendly. Any ideas are welcome. Curtis Strouse North American Stainless >> Curtis, What problems are you having with PTALK for DOS and Win95? I have 300+ sales people (and others) using PTALK for DOS to dial into a Perle 3i and 394e with very few problems. Many of the users, myself included, are using Win95 machines. The only problems we seem to have are either user problems, what I call ' the loose nut in front of the keyboard', or someone calling over a dirty phone line. If you have the Win95 properties set correctly PTALK for DOS works quite well. Your problems may be caused by the modems. If you have bad or cheap modems, they are probably the cause of your problems. I used to have some cheap modems on the AS/400 end and had a lot of probelms with them until I was able to replace them. Now, I hardly ever have any problems with people using PTALK. If you can elaborate about the problems you are having, maybe I can suggest some solutions. TTFN...
