Al, You are correct. Synon is written in PL/I. And from what I understand they (Synon) tried to write a new feature of the tool in C in version 5.0 (usages) and REWROTE the feature in PL/I in 5.1. The performance of the C programs was horrible compared to what they could do in PL/I. I'm not saying that PL/I is faster than C just reporting what happened. -Walden -----Original Message----- From: mcsnet!midrange.com!midrange-l-owner@Mcs.Net [mailto:mcsnet!midrange.com!midrange-l-owner@Mcs.Net]On Behalf Of Al Barsa, Jr. Sent: Tuesday, December 23, 1997 11:17 PM To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com Subject: Re: PL/I on V4R1? <snip> Lastly, IBM has a financial interest in Synon. I understand that Synon is written in PL/1. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good byte.
