Gee, I seem to recall seeing the introduction of the touch-tone phone at the
"World's Fair" as a child, and being told that the star and pound (*, #)
buttons would "in the future" be used to activate our household appliances.
 Now Gates and others promise the same thing with PC's.  With a few (hardly
noticeable) exceptions, I'm still waiting...
