Hank:

The 400 wasn't slow when we installed, or for 2 years after that.  It's only
become slow due to increased volumes.  In my case, my client doesn't think that
the AS/400 as a platform is slow, only that theirs' has become slow.  Their
perception is correct.

Their problem is that they would rather solve the problem of response time by
spending money to write different programs, on a different platform, instead of
upgrading the AS/400.
