Tim, You have gotten enough replies on your original question, but if your comment in the source about changing the case of a field is correct, and you have SQL consider replacing the entire program with this SQL statement. update ussrchm set xxx = upper(xxx) where xxx <> upper(xxx) where xxx is the field name.
