Bob, >I guess from copyrighting a number of things (beyond just putting >"Copyright Cozzi" on something, but actually registering the copyright, you >have to become aware that in order to enforce you copyright, you sometimes >have to prove access. If I put "copyright Cozzi" on my handout, give it to >COMMON to reproduce, and in turn, give a copy of it to an attendee, there >is a paper path that can be followed. If I simply stick it on the Internet, >the paper path is lost. Are you implying that all the companies that post their copyrighted code on the 'net have lost their full rights, just because the paper trail is gone? If you are talking about restricting physical access, then you may have a point; it's certainly easier to access the material from the 'net then to get your hands on a paper or CD copy. But as far as your rights to the material, I don't see the difference. -mark +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MAJORDOMO@midrange.com | and specify 'unsubscribe MIDRANGE-L' in the body of your message. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
