Unfortunately,  didn't work for me - yet.  I do have a question. You say the 
device was *APPN? Please double check this.  I am not allowed this value, so I 
tried *APPC and *ALL.  Neither worked.  If it is truly *APPN, then I am missing 
something kinda important.
