The ECS modem when used to talk to IBM is used in SDLC mode. MOST PC
modems
don't do SDLC. The modems that do AUTOSYNC can. If you don't want to use
an IBM modem try a UDS modem. AS with anything that is largely for
business
modems that do SDLC will prob cost twice that of a modem for a PC
application
