A MultiTech MT2834BL is basically the same modem as the new IBM 7852-400
(MultiTech manufactures them for IBM).
The MultiTech MT2834BA is the same except it has no leased line support,
and is probably about $50 cheaper.
The 16 dip switches on the side of the 7852/MT2834Bx would be as follows
for use as ECS modem:
Up, Up, Down, Down, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Up, Down, Up, Up, Up, Up, Up

The 7852-400 comes with the switches preset for use as ECS mode, the
MultiTech MT2834's will need to change switches 4, 7 & 12 as shown
above.
