  • Subject: Sending printer control codes

I'm trying to send some control codes to a Lexmark 4226 dot
matrix printer, eg. ESC W1 to set double width or ESC W0 to
cancel it again.
The problem is the ESC character (1Bh). I can get it to appear
in the outfile using a printer file that was modified with
RPLUNPRT(*NO). But as soon as I send it to the printer, the 400
complains about unprintable characters and puts the spool
file on hold.
Is there anyway to get this control sequences to the printer?

Matthias
