  • Subject: How to install Client Access for Windows 95/NT ODBC driver on NT 3.51?

Our company is running Windows NT3.51 on the desktop. It is not our
intention to migrate to NT 4.0 (we have more than 600 users) and will wait
for NT 5.0. We would like to install some parts of the Client Access for
Windows95/NT 4.0 on certain workstations in order to run some tests.
Actually our standard is the Rumba/WallData product and we use their ODBC
driver to access the AS/400 (with SNA).

The IBM driver seems to be much faster (especially with the TCP/IP stack)
and IBM even if they do not support the Client Access product on NT 3.51
recognise unofficially that the ODBC driver can work correctly.

The setup program does not accept to start on Windows NT 3.51.

We tried to install separately the components, but unfortunately we were
unable to make them run and we really do not want to update our users to NT
4.0!!!.

Does anybody tried to do this work before? Any help would be really
appreciated!
