You can also use an RPG program to read a PF and write to a SAVF. We have a set of programs that pass a SAVF from one system to another over a comm link-- it reads the PF, sends it, receives it, and writes to the SAVF at the receiving end. We wrote the program because the only other possibility at the time was SNADS, which is a LOT slower (yes, I know it makes sure the file gets there, but it's slower).
