Jim,

He is writing service programs, and they are higher level routines, but not
as "high" as I would have done. They're still memory management routines,
which I would define as "low level".

What I was thinking of was more like a service program giving you functions like
ArrayNew (implicit allocate)
ArrayAdd (implicit allocate if necessary)
ArrayRemove
ArrayFree (deallocate)
ArrayPosFirst
ArrayPosNext
ArrayPosPrev
ArrayPosLast
ArrayGet
ArraySize

and so on.
