RE: excel to as400

The FDF file specs for the PC file upload must match exactly to the DDS
on the iSeries.
You need to check not only the field lengths but the cell types in the
Excel sheet. Fields must be in exact order of FDF spec.
For instance, if you have a field with numeric data but you decided to
add a field column heading in Excel- that field is now text.
Also check if you allowed the fields to be Null capable in DDS?

Morning everyone.
  
  I am trying to take an excel spreadsheet that I initially created from
the 400 with data. Some data was keyed inot columns that I provided.
When I try to transfer the spreadsheets back to the 400 I am getting
errors that data in this field is incorrect or does not match the PC
data type. I think what has happened is the users keyed into a flds that
they were not meant to. I have tried using the data transfer off the
client access session. I have also tried using the data transfer option
on the speadsheet itself. Neither works.
  Hope this makes sense.....
  
  Is there a way to prevent this???
