We too had to put locks on the doors and on the last visit they told us we must build a wall separating the printers from the servers because someone fetching a printout might go crazy and push some buttons on the servers. This SOX stuff is insane. We even had to put a new lock on the server room and we already had plastic keys to get inside our department! They just said it was SOX, but there is nothing in SOX that states how many doors much have different locks to get to the iSeries or network server. The best weapon is knowledge of the law at the management and board level. That way you know when to say enough is enough. Shur-Lok after 56 years as an independent shop was just acquired by a large publicly traded company. So interesting things will most likely start in the new future. The immediate issue is whether to be pro-active and try to get a grip on what it means - or wait till corporate guides us?
