I didn't say before. I just said I would love to have more characters in the item description. We have abbreviations (and an abbreviation list to follow) in order to get the item description to be meaningful. We would love to be able to key in all the characters and have that description print on reports, MO's, invoices, --everywhere the description is called out. In other words, it's not additional information--it IS the information. But since Mapics only allows the 30 characters--it would be considered additional information. We have created multiple instances of the exact same part because our descriptions were not keyed the way they "should" have been if following the abbreviation list. Item comments in COM would be a help for some of the documents, and at least they would be centrally located--not an external file. Creating the file is the easy part--getting MAPICS to see it is the hard part. Any user exits I'm not aware of? Thanks" Oh, no. If we have to list items or something like that , we do not use MAPICS' report versions. However, I want to ask you (maybe you explained it before, I am sorry) but: under which circumstances you want this additional information to be used?
