We end qinter & the un-attached jobs, then wait for the SWA to return the messages it has started then we start qinter & the unattached jobs. All that is really running at the time we do the SWA is some shopfloor labor reporting. We do not have many users on at that time. If you've solved this problem, my biggest headaches will be solved to! Now we run our own that does an save-while-active. QINTER is down for about 2 minutes while the SWA does its thing to get in sync. At the end we do a dsptap to show what was backed up. We have a 3581 tape drive, it is awesome!!! We do the MAPICS pre/post backup routines within the CL that does the SWA. Dale you said "doesn't give me the same thing that I get when I manually run the "Save disk backup to tape"." What is different about it? Could you modify it to be the same?
