Another option to avoid fraudulent checks is Positive Pay. After we cut checks our accounting manager transmits a file of the checks to our bank. If a check is not listed in that file it is not honored. In my opinion, using blank check stock is one of the more secure methods of printing the checks. This way any attempt to print a fraudulent check (in the company's name) would have to be done through the forms software. The Acom software logs every check printed, and creates the positive pay files with a little configuration. Also limited the individuals allowed to print the checks narrows down the chance as well. For us, one person cuts the checks and then a second merges the checks in the forms software. There is no one person that can do both functions. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael K.
