Konrad,

I agree with what you say, if you change the keystrokes the users have used
for the last 2 decades, a lot of them will just self-destruct.  I do have a
question through.  You used a term I'm unfamiliar with - what is "pre-CUA"?
I've never heard of "CUA".

Al,

I don't think it will happen anytime soon. Many of the applications are
pre-CUA and the decision was made rightly or wrongly to keep existing
customers with familiar command key assignments and behavior (press
enter to validate changes) stable while following the new conventions in
the newer applications. On top of that the GUI screen scrapper product
is built on top of those same definitions. Changing the green screen
would break the GUI product. This also accounts for the reluctance to
change screens within a release.

It seems to me (and I'm not a programmer) that Mapics
should look for "consistancy" in their inputting screens,
especially those that are very commonly used.

Kirk has suggested many times on TV, "Make it happen."
