Old Topic I'm Sure

I apologize if this is an old topic, but what are those of you doing for 
reliable nightly MAPICS or other data backups for 3-shift operations, with no 
offshift systems support?  Currently, I only do a MAPICS backup weekly and a 
library backup nightly ... however during my nightly backups some files are 
skipped because they are in use.  This is an area I have been somewhat lax in 
and need to get better before I get stung.



Any suggestions/hints are appreciated.
