MPSP plans according to a time line going out (into the future) from the
plan date.

There are several time intervals in this future timeline, becoming further
out in the order listed in the options. MFG LT is the manufacturing lead
time for the item being planned. CMFG LT is the cumulative manufacturing
lead time for the item, including any lower level manufactured parts
(assembly, sub-assembly, fabricated parts) lead times on a critical-path
view - in other words, the total time (calendar days) to complete all the
manufacturing activity from start to finish through all levels of the bill.
CMTL LT is cumulative material lead time - it's like CMFG LT except it also
includes the time required to acquire all the purchased components and
materials as well as complete the manufacturing activity - also on a
critical path basis (meaning overlap is taken into account).

The planning options control how "near in" the first planned order can be
placed in the plan. With option 1 selected, that planned order can appear
anywhere - even "today". Option 2 will never place a planned order any
closer to the planning start date than the MFG lead time. Similarly, option
3 will not place a planned order any closer in than CMFG LT and option 4 no
earlier than CMTL LT. If the planning process results in a need for a
planned order earlier than the option allows, MPSP will place the planned
order at the selected time fence and flag it to tell you that it would have
placed it earlier if it had been allowed to.

Hope this helps.

Is anyone running MPSP at CUM level 3196? Do you have any information on
the plan orders flag being changed from Y/N to 1-4? What do the different
options do?
1. When required
2. Not in MFG LT
3. Not in CMFG LT
4. Not in CMTL LT
