sorry, just picking this up now....

       We would start to decrease the Safety stock levels, items being
removed form use, however,  when you release the new rev.of the parent
item, to mfg you can set the 'effective date' after analysis, If
overlapping dates exist,  mrp will use the rev. with the latest start
date for planning and I/M will use the earlier date for BOM release.

procurement is only effected if MRP is generating a PO or Req. as per
MRP auto release.
