I have automated FTP transfers in a previous life (pre-Momentum). The
trick in an AS/400 CL program is that the FTP commands must be in a
separate text file. The CL program will need to override the command
input file and the FTP output messages file. The application I wrote
even updated the command text file before initiating the FTP. The hard
part is that any FTP errors are *only* reported to the output file - no
monitorable messages are generated. You must scan the output file for
error codes (I think in the 400 & 500 range).

Check the CL manual for the FTP command to get the input & output file
names for the override.

Has anyone used FTP to transfer a file from the AS400 to a server with a
automated program?
