Environment: Mapics DB/Y2K with IM, PDM and PC&C

Hi Mapics ML:

I was trying to edit the blank STDUC fields for certain Item Type 2
manufactured components in one of our Finished Goods products and I came upon a
stumbling block:

The costing fields in ITEMBL have the following messages on the DBU screen:

 AVERAGE UNIT COST X'0000000000000000' @ POSITION 0090
    LAST UNIT COST X'0000000000000000' @ POSITION 0100
STANDARD UNIT COST X'0000000000000000' @ POSITION 0110

(The words, "Average Unit Cost, Last Unit Cost and Standard Unit Cost" are all
in "white" font. The other portion of the field information is in regular
"green" font.)

The message on the bottom of the DBU screen says, " Fields displayed in hex
contain more than 15 digits, use CMD 2 to update."

I may be wrong but it appears that all the inventory records in the ITEMBL file
have the above messages related to those three (3) fields.

How do I clear this problem so that I can edit the STDUC field in the ITEMBL
file? Can you give me some information about how to use the "CMD 2" command?

I wonder how these fields got to this status in the first place?

I look forward to reading your comments and suggestions.
