By size do you mean the processor group? P10 versus P20 etc? We are looking to possibly upgrade next year from an older model 500 that is in the P20 group to an 820 model that is actually much bigger in processing capabilities but would drop to a P10 group. When I spoke with our local affiliate about reduced cost for licensing, I was told that the pricing would need to be reviewed by MAPICS once we confirmed the model and that it may not be tied to the processor group like most of our other licenses. I have to agree that as an I.S. department in a small business , a $50,000+ ALF is the highest single item on my annual budget after salaries and capital improvements. I receive 5 - 10 calls a month from people wanting to sell us a new ERP system on a Windows Platform and feel that I need to start listening to some of these. I have over 20 years of experience with the IBM system 34, 38 and AS/400 lines and have yet to find a better platform but I feel I need to once again evaluate the situation.
