I suppose your biggest drawback would be if you (a lot of ) partial shipping: Special charges are "shipped" once: on the first shipment, and then invoiced. So if you want to take care of an additional charge at 2nd shipment, or want to charge proportionally to your shipment, then you got some more thinking to do. Also if you want to charge what is charged to you (by DHL,...) you ay want to look into other directions.
