Paul,

we worked with a company in southern california that has MAPICS and edi, but they were using a PC package for EDI (Sterling's Gentrans).  Mapics told them they would have to get a 400 solution, but they were already comfortable with using the PC EDI and didn't want to change.  We were able to interface the files from the pc EDI in and out of mapics. So it can be done reasonably easily.  I will echo that EC support is not very helpful and EC is not well documented.  Also if you talk with MAPICS support, they have NO idea about EC.

Subject: EDI Requirements

Our company has a requirement to setup an EDI interface to one (or more) of our customers.  I have been exploring some of the Mapics documentation on their EC product, as well as discussing the requierements with our local Mapics affiliate.  It looks like we have a number of options and I wanted to know what are some of the more successful EDI implementations out there.  What solutions did you use for the mapping, translation, network, etc?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Paul
