Yes it was concerning MUI. I don't necessarily blame IBM, I think our
affiliate should have known that this would have been a problem. The only
thing our affiliate mentioned was if we had done anything with MUI a problem
may occur. To us that meant if we had made a change to MUI, which we had
not.

Hopefully it all will be worth it, Sunday we are upgrading our 620-2175 to a
720-2062. As the IBM technician explained it to us "major surgery".... :-)

        Steve,

Let me guess - the PTF changes something in MUI, right? It sure
would be nice
if they worked out something with IBM to get the "unsupported"
interfaces that
that thing uses replaced with something supported, stable, and
compatible with
        security levels 40 and 50.

Just an FYI to anyone who is planning an upgrading to V4R4 or V4R3.
Last
weekend we upgraded our OS from V4R1 to V4R4 and the upgrade went
fine, but
when we went to access MAPICS the system locked.

We could not end the session even from QCONSOLE and had to IPL to
get the
job to end. Turns out a PTF must be applied to MAPICS, SH44998 for
XA5.
After applying this PTF everything is now fine.

The description of the PTF says that the F1 & F4 keys will issue a
message,
but obviously we experienced something a little more drastic.
