You don't need Outlook anymore if you can live with Mail.app and iCal. Snow
Leopard has built-in Exchange support. I would try that first. Aaron, want
to come over to try it? I do need to try to get RPGNextGen working yet.

LOL! I haven't had somebody say that to me before :-)

Over the years I have learned when and when not to hit the spend money
button. There are times when going the geek route is fun and good, and
there are times when buying "insurance" is the better option.

Note that I DO have a full backup of all my data and I DID get a previous
kernel to boot, but after working on that for 8+ hours I am seeing that it
just might not be worth it for my main business machine. I do plan on
keeping Ubuntu on 4 other machines in my house, just not on my business
machine.

Here are some very important (to me) things I gain by moving to the Mac:

- Verizon Access Blackberry tethering support (yes, I have tried the Barry
Linux version and can't get it to work. When I am on the road I have to
boot into Windows to use VZAccess Manager).

- Native support for Camtasia studio (essential for an author and
documenter)

- Native support for GoToMeeting (I use this daily)

- Native support for Outlook (
http://mashable.com/2009/08/13/microsoft-outlook-for-mac/)

- Audio recording stuff (ok, this isn't essential, but to me it would great
to have as I love to record music!)

That leaves me with only one reason to need Windows and that would be for
RDi, which I don't use as often now that I have RPGNextGen (thanks, thanks,
thanks Mihael).

Not to be mean, but from what you have admitted I would say you are ready
for a management position. ;-)

You upgraded without a backup or image and to cure the problem your are
going to spend money on a more expensive solution.

Time to buy a pin striped suit and tie when you buy that MacBookPro. ;-)
