I typed in "870" in the Char map field of the TN5250 Quick-Connect dialog
box

I am afraid that's the case. Linux needs 870 to iso8859-2 translation.
Windows (Polish version) uses windows latin 2 (cp 1250) fonts, so I think
the Linux translation cannot work.

Using tn5250 under Linux we assumed that our OS is using iso8859-xx code
page. This was true for Linux, it is not true for Windows. I think, that we
will need a more general format of the "map" option. "map=870" should be
replaced by "map=870_8859-2", and additionaly we need "map=870_1250" and
"map=870_852". I know, that recode supports all codepages mentioned above.
I have no idea, what translations are needed for other languages.

Sorry, I didn't try the previous version. Another config option wouldn't do
any harm :)

As I've already written - I am waiting for the Good Thing.
