I'm going to do some work on scs2pdf.c. We need searchable pdfs and
ps2pdf doesn't give us that. Anyone know where I can find some specs on
the pdf format? Specifically, what makes a pdf searchable?

And what is not finished about scs2pdf? Can it produce an output at all
without crashing? I will be looking at it more closely but some input
would help.
