ARE: iBM's Application Runtime Expert: is a product we put on all the
system we manage and deploy it. Basically, it allows us to answer the
question: "What changed?" when application software gets busted.

Now if you need Java for other reasons on the desktop, then yea,

installation.

First, thank you.

This change needs to be as simple/seamless as possible. Any
environment variables/paths/etc will need to be done on every PC. One
of the beautiful things about ACS was that everything is contained in
the ACS folder and subfolders. Now that is (apparently) changing.
