Interesting. As a general approach you can get rid of any JVM-specific option (starts with one or more X'es) which hopefully should get it started.

The Sun JVM uses a memory allocation technique which requires some tuning for large programs. For the Classic JVM this is not relevant (as it allows lots of memory).
