Yes, the multiple implementations was the main reason I haven't doneI don't think I made myself clear enough. You do not want Hibernate as such, you want the JPA implementation based on Hibernate (plus some good documentation for tweaking it if needed) :)

Netbeans looks like it has a good Hibernate plug-in. This weekend I played
briefly with it, but it looks like I need to read about how it works before
I can do anything. I got DB2 configured, but wasn't sure what to do next :-)
I actually saved that email thread because I thought I might need it at some
