So if this works. RUNJVA CLASS(utilities.AS400JDBCDriver) CLASSPATH('/QIBM/ProdData/HTTP/Public/jt400/lib/jt400.jar') And although this doesn't run- it finds it RUNJVA CLASS(com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver) CLASSPATH('/QIBM/ProdData/HTTP/Public/jt400/lib/jt400.jar') It would seem that my problem is maybe in my syntax of the my classpath. Could that be the problem? RUNJVA CLASS(lockBox.UploadLockBox) CLASSPATH('/QIBM/ProdData/Java400/:QIBM/ProdData/HTTP/Public/jt400/lib/j t400.jar') PROP((java.version '1.4')) OPTION(*NONE) Because when I use the above I still get java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com/ibm/as400/access/AS400JDBCDriver Michael Smith iSeries.mySeries. -----Original Message----- From: java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Smith, Mike Sent: Wednesday, February 14, 2007 2:55 PM To: Java Programming on and around the iSeries / AS400 Subject: RE: RUNJVA problems Well there was some success. I found that the jt400.jar file I had copied originally was an older version. I have had it on my desktop for a couple of years(since I took a java class) So I tried running what you suggested over the one in /QIBM/ProdData/HTTP/Public/jt400/lib/jt400.jar and it connected with this as a result. IBM Toolbox for Java: Open Source Software, JTOpen 5.0, codebase 5722-JC1 V5R4M0.1 So I guess it can find it. I wonder what would happen if I tried the AS400JDBCDriver. Maybe it will at least find it. The user I'm running under has all authority to the .jar file. I have checked and the .jar file does contain everything it needs.
Mike, Have you attempted to access a class in jt400.jar directly? Most recent versions of jt400.jar have an AboutToolbox class which simply prints the jt400.jar version. You can verify yours does by listing the TOC of the jar in QSH using the jar command. If so, you should be able to invoke this class directly: java -classpath '/path/to/jt400.jar' utilities.AboutToolbox or using RUNJVA: RUNJVA CLASS(utilities.AboutToolbox) CLASSPATH('/path/to/jt400.jar') This will at least help rule out a problem with this particular jar. Carl.
