Have you tried to use the OPTION(*VERBOSE) on RUNJVA to see details on
class loading? It may give a clue as to what is happening.

Sorry, I missed the level part before.
PTF Group Level
SF99530 6142
SF99269 4

Mike,

I signed onto a customers System i and this DOES run on V5R3M0 at CUME
level 6178 and Java group PTF level 12. So, let me ask this a different

way:

On a command line type WRKPTFGRP and press enter. There will be a list
of PTF groups, levels and status. It will look similar to this:

Opt PTF Group Level Status
     SF99530 6178 Installed
     SF99529 99 Installed
     SF99503 13 Installed
     SF99298 18 Installed
     SF99275 10 Installed
     SF99269 12 Installed
     SF99185 1 Installed
     SF99173 2 Installed
     SF99099 9 Installed

What value do you have for the SF99530 group under the "Level" column?
What value do you have for the SF99269 PTF Group under the "Level"
Column?

Looks like it may be a Java Group PTF issue.

Pete

I have checked and the .jar file does contain everything it needs.

Larry,
I didn't mean to imply that I will be running this within WDSC in
production.. What I meant was that I developed this in WDSC(java
perspective) and can get it to run there- so I know the program
works.

Its after I export it to the IFS that it will not run. The intent is
for it to get called from a menu option(green Screen) using RUNJVA

Mike,

What is the permission mode on the jar you are attempting to access on

the IFS?

Also, from within QSH you may want to run jar to list the table of
contents for the jarfile you are having difficulty with, just to make
sure it contains what you expect it to.

Carl.
