The only solution I'm aware of would be for you to parse/process the
file using POI-HWPF from the Apache Jakarta project and then output you
results through iText from www.lowagie.com/iText/. Could be quite the
task.

Another option, if you don't need all of it on the iSeries, would be to
write a service for windows that took your word doc, printed it to pdf
using ghostscript, and then send the output back to the iseries.

Anybody know of a tool that can take Microsoft Word documents and

them to PDF using Java?  The reason I say it needs to use Java is

this needs to run on the iSeries - which doesn't necessarily mean I NEED
Java, but that would be the best for my scenario :-)
 
I know of a whole slew of tooling that could run on Windows to do this,
but
strictly on the iSeries I have not had to do this before.
