Nothing will beat rpg in terms of speed. The most powerful thing is 'RPG
logic' in which one can have the program read in 2 dozen files with matched
records simultaneously and one does not have to write a single line of
input code!

Although this does not qualify rpg  a hopeful language in my opinion.
