Certainly that would work, I was merely offering a suggestion that did NOT
require the programmer to remember to subtract 1, which seemed to bother the
original poster.  I'm sure people lots smarter than me could argue the
performance penalties/benefits of one solution over the other, but to me
either solution works fine.
