Joe Said; >>Yes, unfortunately. IBM's stated direction is to move to an overall IDE that supports everything. It's supposedly based on the Eclipse product, http://www.eclipse.org/. Personally, I love VAJ, but if you're picking a new standard, I don't think VAJ is the way to go. Not that I recommend JBuilder, either, but that's just my opinion<< That's not quite right. VAJava is not going away, The development environment is being made more coherent with Eclipse. You now get EVERYthing (all compilers, the Web Tools including VAJava) with the iSeries now. I think it is a huge misnomer to think that VAJava is going away. It was a standalone function before and was very crudely integrated with WebSphere development tools for example. Things are a LOT better than they were. Mike make sure you get the right info about it. The Eclipse project is going to be great. BELIEVE me. Imagine Integrating Code400, Green Screen Development, Web Development, Java, etc into one tool that knows what the different parts are? We have been waiting for this along time( finally a real path not to use SEU anymore) It is MUCH more inclusive than Jbuilder will ever be. IMHO Visit some other references about it.
