RE: sluggish java program -- JAVA400-L

Does anybody know WHY we have these problems the first time the program is run?
Is there a technical explanation for what is going on?  Is this a flaw in Java
on the 400, or perhaps because I lack experience I am just not doing something
right?

It seems that I am not alone with this problem.  However, it's almost
embarrassing to have to explain the workaround to a client who could have used
RPG without these problems occurring.
