I can't exactly answer your question, but in case it's any help I will offer
what I know. I'm using DB2 UDB Workgroup Edition (version 6.0), and it
seems to compare pretty closely to the 400. I did run into a problem with
V4R4 where IBM verified a Java bug which at that time (over a year ago) had
no fix. But this was only an issue where a Java program running on the 400
was connecting to a DB2 UDB database on an NT Server machine. The
work-around was to set "cursor hold" to "false". I haven't had any problems
with JDBC connections to a 400 database, or with basic SQL operations
against the database, but again I don't know if the two are identical on a
feature-for-feature basis. I had some minor problems updating ISO date
fields on the 400 from the NT machine, but that was my fault, which I
corrected by setting "date format" to "iso".
