Use 'export -s CLASSPATH'

The Java utility on the AS/400 is a built-in shell utility.
This export command both exports AND sets the CLASSPATH as an environment
variable in the actual interpreter process instead of starting a new
process
for it (i.e. the -s option is something you'd never have to use on another
platform).

Having java be a qshell built-in utility is a java performance
optimization,
but the environment variable thing is a little bit of a quirk...

In subsequent releases, qshell does this by default.

Even after trying to the 2 suggestions posted, I am still getting the same
error.  See below for my CLASSPATH definition and resulting java call:

 CLASSPATH=/QIBM/ProdData/HTTP/Public/jt400/lib/jt400.jar:/etbjava
 ENV=/SCRIPTS/JAVAMAIL

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------
 cd /etbjava
 [/etbjava]
 java msgsendsample
 java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: msgsendsample
       java/lang/Error.<init>(Ljava/lang/String;)V+1 (Error.java:53)
 [/etbjava]

I am still unsure of what I am doing wrong here.  It seems that it should
be
able to find my msgsendsample.class file, but it is not.  Below is also a
list of what is in etbjava.


 activation.jar          msgsendsample.class     sendfile.class
 mail.jar                msgsendsample.java      sendfile.java
 msgsend.class           sendemail.class
 msgsend.java            sendemail.java
 [/etbjava]

Please let me know if I am missing something.  Thanks!
